Ensuring 99% uptime in critical gas infrastructure.
A national gas distribution company that operates and maintains a national gas network spanning thousands of kilometres of pipelines. For them, it’s crucial to keep the gas flowing 24/7, because even a minor disruption can have major consequences for homes and businesses alike.
Our client runs critical national gas infrastructure, where downtime isn’t an option. When something breaks, it impacts supply security, costs money, and shakes confidence.
At the same time, our client was growing fast. Over the course of our partnership, it scaled from 29 to more than 100 compressors in operation – a transformation that required an entirely different approach to planning, coordination, and execution across the country. More equipment increased the overall demand for spare parts and service support, making a larger spare parts inventory and more structured spare parts management essential to maintain high availability. At the same time, the organisation needed technical capacity to design, build, install, and service new units at scale.
Before working with Terotech, our client’s maintenance planning only looked three months ahead. In critical operations, that’s not planning. It’s reactive. To keep the system running reliably, the organisation needed to shift from fixing problems to preventing them and build the capability to manage it all.
Terotech was part of that journey – and remains so today. Through a long-term service agreement, we support every facet of their operations, ensuring the organisation, the equipment, and the people are always ready for what’s next.
Our client was dealing with three pressures at once:
They needed a professional service partner who could do more than simply perform maintenance – a partner capable of supporting planning, technical decision-making, and the long-term reliability of their compressor fleet.
Without a shift in approach, they faced more breakdowns, more stress on the team, and rising inefficiency. Maintenance needed to move from putting out fires to staying ahead of them.
When Terotech took over operations and maintenance in 2019, the goal wasn’t just to keep equipment running. It was to build a system that could support growth and deliver consistent uptime.
Here’s what we did:
Since 2019, we have helped our client maintain uninterrupted operations, even while more than tripling the size of its compressor fleet.
In 2025, the collaboration was renewed through an EU tender, now covering service and maintenance of all gas compressors across the Danish distribution network.
What this means in practice:
The immediate outcome for our client:
We don’t just fix what breaks. By tracking and analysing data across our client’s compressor fleet, we’ve helped shift maintenance from reacting to problems to predicting them.
Regular reviews make sure that what we learn on-site gets shared, discussed, and acted on. In one case, we spotted recurring cooling issues across several installations. We dug into the root cause, designed a better solution, and rolled it out across the fleet. The result was more reliable equipment, better working conditions, and lower costs over time.
That’s what happens when maintenance becomes strategic, not just a technical task.
Performance speaks for itself. In 2025, we won the EU tender based on price, competence, and proven results. Proof that proactive maintenance delivers real business value.
High uptime isn’t something that happens by chance.
It’s the result of planning, preparation, and the right partner.
With Terotech OMS, you gain control over your assets, confidence in your operations, and a maintenance setup that scales with your business, not against it.
